Job summary

Komatsu seeks a Field Service Technician for our Elko, NV facility to keep critical mining equipment safe, reliable, and performing at its best. You will perform maintenance, inspection, and repair work across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a related technical service role, preferably in mining or heavy industrial equipment.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or the equivalent of at least one year of technical college focused on mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems, circuit installations, and the ability to interpret schematic diagrams.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning motor couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with good communication.
• Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Willingness to travel and operate in varied mining site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection activities on mining equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
• Diagnose issues related to mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and implement effective solutions.
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts at customer sites, maintaining high workmanship and safety standards.
• Conduct rigorous testing of repaired equipment to verify performance and reliability.
• Work with field service teams to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion in demanding environments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using knowledge of motor controls, circuit installations, and schematics.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs and support continuous improvement.
