Job summary

Hudbay Minerals is seeking a Project Analyst to provide project controls, financial analysis, and cost monitoring for the Cactus Mine Project in Arizona. The role reports to the Project Controls Manager and interfaces with EPCM, procurement, and site operations to ensure data integrity and accurate cost reporting.

You will develop EVM models, support AFEs and CAPEX forecasts, and assist in monthly financial reporting and risk reviews, enabling delivery within governance standards and budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in finance, accounting, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in project controls or financial analysis for mining or major capital projects.
• PMI CAPM or PMP certification, or AACE CCP/EVP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Track, analyze, and report on budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts for Cactus Mine packages.
• Perform detailed cost variance analysis and monitor progress against baselines and KPIs.
• Coordinate month-end close, WIP accruals, and invoice reconciliations with finance teams.
• Develop and update Earned Value Management (EVM) models and CAPEX forecasts.
• Assist in evaluating AFEs, contract requests, and PFS cost estimates per governance standards.
• Maintain accurate cost models and review contractor invoices and change requests.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and executive dashboards for leadership.
• Support risk assessments, risk registers, and tollgate reviews.
