Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to develop, implement, and manage safety programs across the Cactus Project and related operations, aligning with MSHA/OSHA regulations and Hudbay standards.

You will lead incident investigations, training, and risk assessments, build relationships with regulators, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance across construction, mining, processing, and office activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and advice to senior management and project leadership to ensure health and safety policies and behaviors consistently align with company objectives.
• Track, analyze, and generate reports on safety performance metrics including leading and lagging indicators.
• Serve as a technical resource for construction and operations management in developing and executing proactive health and safety programs that prevent injuries, illnesses, and property damage.
• Provide technical assistance across project, construction, mining, processing, and office operations to ensure full compliance with MSHA, OSHA, Federal, State, and Company regulations.
• Ensure all necessary systems, management frameworks, and protocols are in place to effectively manage health and safety risks.
