Job summary

Hudbay Minerals invites applications for a Project Analyst role on the Cactus Mine project in Arizona. You will provide project controls, financial analysis, cost tracking and schedule monitoring to support feasibility studies and execution, reporting to the Project Controls Manager.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in project controls or cost engineering, PMI CAPM/PMP or AACE CCP/EVP preferred, and strong skills in Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in project controls, financial analysis, cost engineering, or project management support in mining, heavy civil, industrial construction, or major capital projects.
• PMI CAPM or PMP certification, or AACE CCP/EVP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Track budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts across all Cactus Mine packages.
• Perform detailed cost variance analysis and progress monitoring against baselines and KPIs.
• Coordinate month-end closing activities, WIP accruals, and invoice reconciliations.
• Assist in Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking models, trend analysis, and CAPEX forecasts.
• Support AFEs, contract requests, and PFS cost estimates.
• Maintain project cost models, review contractor invoices and change requests.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and executive dashboard summaries.
