Job summary

Hudbay Minerals is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering for the Cactus Project in Casa Grande, AZ. This role leads engineering execution across EPCM consultants, ensuring technical integrity, safety in design, and schedule adherence for a major CAPEX mining project.

You will oversee scope control, cost forecasting, and NAV optimization, coordinating with procurement and project services to deliver on-time, within-budget construction handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Metallurgical, Chemical, Mining or Construction Engineering.
• Minimum 12+ years of progressive engineering experience in large-scale mining project execution and capital projects.
• Minimum 5+ years of senior engineering leadership overseeing EPCM contractors on major mining or heavy industrial projects.
• Extensive expertise in managing EPCM consultants and engineering design execution for large-scale CAPEX mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead EPCM consultants and engineering design firms for the CAPEX Cactus Mine Project.
• Coordinate site-wide discipline engineering scopes (crushing, heap/leaching, SX/EW, tailings, utilities).
• Ensure safety, design standards, and regulatory compliance in EPCM packages.
• Manage schedules, procurements, and technical bid evaluations to support milestones.
