You will develop and oversee a robust HSMS compliant with Mine Health and Safety Act and company standards, while driving continuous improvement and training across the site.

You will conduct risk assessments, lead investigations, manage budgets, and liaise with regulators.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Health and Safety management in mining.
• Mine Safety Officer certificate is essential.
• Solid knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act and regulations.
• Proven risk assessment, hazard identification and incident investigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSMS aligned with laws and standards.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training for all employee levels.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
• Manage department budget and resources efficiently.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies on safety matters.
• Develop and manage emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Monitor KPIs and report safety performance to leadership.
