Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Mine Engineering professional to oversee surveying, mapping, and geologic data analysis. The role includes supervising interns and contractors, driving safety, and supporting ground control and quality assurance in mining operations.

Responsibilities span from updating short- and long-term mine plans to coordinating with geology, lab, and maintenance teams for compliant, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in geology, mining, or related engineering/technical field or equivalent experience.
• Preferred BS/MS in Mining Engineering or Geology.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety and lead safety inspections and training.
• Coordinate survey control and oversee alignment checks.
• Update and publish mine maps regularly.
• Provide three-dimensional locations of mine workings and infrastructure.
• Prepare monthly volumetric and planimetric reports for reconciliation.
• Survey and track quality data to define ore zone contacts.
• Design, survey and record blast patterns and keep electronic records.
