Job summary

Doug Ashy Building Materials is hiring a Full-time Inside Sales Representative in our Millwork Department. You will greet customers, assist with millwork product selection (doors, windows, moldings, trim, stairs), and interpret plans to prepare accurate material lists and quotes.

You’ll process orders through delivery, coordinate with vendors, manage special orders, and maintain strong product knowledge and customer relationships to grow repeat business.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset and relationship-building.
• Clear and professional communication (verbal & written).
• Ability to read blueprints or construction drawings (preferred).
• Basic math for dimensions and quantities.
• Proficiency with computers; learn POS, estimating and inventory systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Prior millwork, door/window or building materials experience preferred.
• Previous sales, retail, or construction-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in person and over the phone with a professional, knowledgeable approach.
• Assist contractors, builders, and homeowners with millwork products selection.
• Interpret plans to generate take-offs and material lists.
• Prepare quotes and estimates with pricing aligned to specs.
• Process orders from quote to delivery, coordinating with vendors and teams.
• Manage special orders and follow up for timely delivery and satisfaction.
• Maintain showroom and product knowledge; support cross-department needs.
