Doug Ashy Building Materials in Lafayette, LA is hiring a Full-time Inside Sales Representative in our Flooring Department. You will greet customers, guide flooring product choices, and process orders from quote to delivery.

You’ll provide quotes, assist with special orders, and stay current on product trends through vendor training. Join a team that values service, reliability, and community and grow with us.

Qualifications

• People-first mindset with strong customer service skills.
• Clear and friendly communication in person and over the phone.
• Basic computer knowledge and comfort learning POS and inventory systems.
• Ability to stay organized, accurate, and focused in a busy environment.
• Prior flooring or building materials experience is a plus, but not required. We’ll train the right person.
• Previous sales, retail, or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer in person or on the phone with a warm, helpful attitude.
• Guide customers in selecting flooring products and answer questions with product knowledge.
• Prepare and process customer orders from quote to completion.
• Provide quotes and assist with special orders, ensuring on-time delivery and satisfaction.
• Stay current on new flooring products and trends via vendor training.
• Collaborate with outside sales to meet customer needs quickly.
• Maintain accurate inventory and keep the showroom stocked and organized.
• Cross-train in different areas to support the team as needed.
• Look for new business opportunities and share leads with the manager.
