Job summary

Doug Ashy Building Materials is hiring an Inside Commercial Sales Representative for the Millwork Department in Covington, LA. The role focuses on selling millwork products to contractors, builders, and homeowners, with emphasis on commercial applications.

You will interpret plans, prepare quotes, and coordinate orders, while maintaining product knowledge and strong customer relationships to grow repeat business. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service mindset and ability to build trust.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
• Basic math and quantity calculations.
• Experience with millwork, doors/windows, or building materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in person and over the phone with a professional, knowledgeable, and solution‑focused approach.
• Assist contractors, builders, and homeowners with selecting millwork products including interior and exterior doors, windows, moldings, trim, stair parts, columns, and related hardware with a focus on commercial applications.
• Interpret building plans, blueprints, and specifications to generate accurate take‑offs and material lists.
• Prepare detailed quotes and estimates, ensuring pricing accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
• Process customer orders accurately from quote through delivery, coordinating closely with vendors and internal teams.
• Maintain an organized showroom and assist other departments as needed.
