Job summary

DOCS Health is seeking an Optometric Technician to support dental exams and treatment for military service members. The position mainly covers weekends with occasional weekday shifts in California, with an as-needed basis.

You will work with patients, operate optical equipment, and interact with patient care software. Duties include assisting the optometrist, taking histories, helping patients choose frames, demonstrating lens care, repairing minor eyewear, and keeping the exam area organized.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of optometric/ophthalmic technician experience.
• Experience with visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography.
• Proficient with computers (word processing, databases, spreadsheets).
• Must have own transportation for site travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Take patient histories and maintain records in the system.
• Help patients select frames and demonstrate lens care.
• Repair minor eyewear issues and keep the office organized.
• Test visual acuity, depth perception, and pupil responses.
