Job summary

DOCS Health in the United States is seeking an Optometry Technician to support military service members. You will work primarily on weekends with occasional weekdays, performing optical testing and assisting the optometrist in patient care.

You will operate optical equipment, assist patients in frame selection, and maintain patient records within our mobile and fixed-clinic delivery model. Prior experience with visual fields, OCTs, Fundus Photography, and computer databases is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography
• Experience with computers, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
• Must have own transportation for site traveling

Responsibilities

• Helping the optometrist with procedures and patient care
• Taking patient histories and maintaining the patient records system
• Assisting patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses
• Demonstrating care and maintenance of lenses to patients
• Repairing minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses
• Keeping the office organized and presentable, and making the exam room ready
• Testing visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes
