Job summary

DOCS Health is seeking an Optometric Technician to assist the optometrist with exams and patient care for military service members. The role focuses on testing visual functions, operating optical equipment, and documenting patient histories in our care software.

Weekend work with some weekday shifts on an as-needed basis, requiring reliability, transportation, and teamwork in a mobile clinic environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography.
• Experience with computers, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.

Responsibilities

• Help the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Take patient histories and maintain the patient records system.
• Assist patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses.
• Demonstrate care and maintenance of lenses to patients.
• Repair minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses.
• Keep the office organized and presentable, and prepare the exam room.
• Test visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes.
