Job summary

DOCS Health in California is seeking an Optometry Technician to join our mobile and fixed-clinic teams serving military service members. You will work primarily on weekends with occasional weekdays, taking patient histories, assisting with exams, and operating optical equipment.

You will interact with patient care software, help the optometrist, and guide patients in selecting frames while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required.
• Experience with computers, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
• Must have own transportation for site traveling.

Responsibilities

• Helping the optometrist with procedures and patient care
• Taking patient histories and maintaining the patient records system
• Assisting patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses
• Demonstrating care and maintenance of lenses to patients
• Repairing minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses
• Keeping the office organized and presentable, and making the exam room ready
• Testing visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes
