Job summary

DOCS Health is seeking an Optometric Technician to assist the optometrist, operate optical machinery, and interface with patient care software while serving military members. You will support procedures, take patient histories, and help patients select frames.

This role mainly covers weekend shifts with occasional weekday coverage in Arkansas. A background check and drug screening are required; E-Verify is used in the hiring process.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required.
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Must have own transportation for site traveling.

Responsibilities

• Helping the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Taking patient histories and maintaining the patient records system.
• Assisting patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses.
• Demonstrating care and maintenance of lenses to patients.
• Repairing minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses.
• Keeping the office organized and presentable, and making the exam room ready.
• Testing visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes.
