Job summary

DOCS Health is seeking an Optometric Technician to support vision exams and patient care for military service members. The position primarily works weekends with occasional weekdays, and involves operating optical equipment and entering patient data.

You will assist the optometrist, take patient histories, help patients choose frames, explain lens care, and maintain the exam room and records. Experience with visual fields, OCTs, Fundus Photography, and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric/ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required.
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Take patient histories and maintain the patient records system.
• Assist patients to select a frame for their glasses
• Demonstrate care and maintenance of lenses to patients
• Repair minor issues with broken/damaged eyeglasses
• Keep the office organized and ready for exams
• Test visual acuity, depth perception, intraocular pressure, and pupil reflexes
