Job summary

Virginia Department of Veterans Services is seeking a Transition Resource Coordinator to help military medics and corpsmen translate their service into Virginia healthcare careers. You will work with veterans, healthcare employers, and partners to map experience to pathways, educate on credentialing, licensure, and job opportunities, and participate in outreach events.

This role emphasizes relationship-building, strong communication, and organized program support as MMAC expands statewide;

Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare systems, workforce development, and credentialing/licensure processes.
• Familiarity with military healthcare occupations and their civilian equivalents.
• Understanding of career pathways, education, training, and professional advancement opportunities.
• Familiarity with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures affecting healthcare and program operations.
• Experience supporting military-connected populations through services, resources, referrals, or career assistance.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with healthcare employers, educational institutions, and community partners.
• Represent MMAC at events and meetings to strengthen career pathways.
• Provide individualized resource coordination and assist clients with education, licensing, and credentialing.
• Support outreach, research, presentations, data collection, and program activities to reduce barriers to civilian healthcare careers.
