Job summary

Global Power Components, located in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking MIG Welders for a on-site, temp-to-hire role with both 1st and 2nd shifts. The company manufactures UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, and generator enclosures and offers stable hours with OT commonly available but not mandatory.

Responsibilities include welding I-beam frames and fuel tanks, reading blueprints, reading measuring devices, and inspecting finished parts to ensure quality.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read measuring devices such as tape measure
• Must be able to read blueprints – this is extremely important
• GMAW (MIG/MAG) experience preferred
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Must be highly motivated
• Able to communicate and work well with others
• Pay attention to details and have a strong drive to succeed

Responsibilities

• Welding I-Beam Frame and Fuel Tanks in flat/vertical overhead positions; sheet metal thickness 10 gauge to 1/2 inch
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind or bolt components to obtain configurations for welding
• Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines or hand tools
• Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions

Hire Type: Temp-to-Hire (3+ months)

1st Shift: 5am - 1:30pm CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for OT

2nd Shift: 4pm – 12:30am CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for OT

Overview:

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. We are seeking MIG Welders who are dedicated, detail orientated and who wants a stable consistent hours where OT is always available but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Welding I-Beam Frame and Fuel Tanks in flat/vertical overhead positions. The sheet metal thickness will range from 10 gauge up to ½ inch.


• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding


• Position and secure workpieces, using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines or hand tools


• Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions

Requirements:
