Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking a Weld Lead to oversee MIG weld operations at our Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility on onsite schedule. The role focuses on coordinating daily welding and fabrication activities, enforcing quality and safety standards, and supporting continuous process improvement.

The ideal candidate will hold a CWI certification, bring 4+ years of shop-floor manufacturing experience, and demonstrate strong leadership in guiding weld teams to meet production goals and customer

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
• 4+ years of experience on the shop floor in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform shop calculations.
• Experience leading weld/fabrication teams and motivating staff to meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of MIG welders/fabricators and delegate responsibilities.
• Train and motivate staff to meet demanding manufacturing requirements and schedules.
• Assist with tasks as necessary to complete assignments.
• Test products/equipment for defects/malfunctions.
• Communicate changes and updates to employees on processes and procedures.

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Due to our company growth we have immediate openings for Weld Leads.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of MIG Welders/fabricators and delegating job responsibilities to appropriate employees
• Train and motivate staff to meet demanding manufacturing requirements and schedules
• Assist with tasks as necessary to complete assignments
• Test products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
• Work in a safe manner
• Communicate changes and updates to employees on processes and procedures

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
• Previous experience in a manufacturing facility on the shop floor for minimum of four (4) years
• Ability to measure, compare and make simple or complex shop calculations necessary to ensure products are in compliance with engineer or sales specifications
• Previous experience working with and reading blueprints
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve a variety of situations on the shop floor
• Previous experience working with steel a plus
• Previous experience leading shop floor employees and motivating them to complete jobs in a timely manner and accurately to specifications
• Must be detail oriented to meet the needs of our customers
