Job summary

3M is seeking a Regional Utility Sales Professional for the Midwest to drive profitable sales and implement territory plans. The role requires coordinating with customers, distributors, and cross-divisional teams to meet strategic goals and grow market share.

Ideal candidates have a degree with sales or utility experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to train customers on multiple products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with two years direct sales or electric utility industry experience.
• Associate's degree with five years of sales experience in private, public, government or military environment.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• MBA is preferred.
• Sales experience in the Power Utility Market.
• Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
• Aptitude to understand and train customers on multiple product lines and applications.
• Field/Channel sales experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels.
• Ability to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities within assigned territory.
• Experience working in a matrix environment or large complex organization.
• Strong computer skills, Database management: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Salesforce.com.
• Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
• Strong team player, ability to work effectively with peers.

Responsibilities

• Driving profitable sales for the power utility business in the assigned territory.
• Developing, implementing, and executing effective territory business plans.
• Prioritizing your end customers, markets, and distributors to drive effective territory management.
• Implementing promotions, and directives as set by division management.
• Collaborating across other power utility territories and within other 3M EMD Divisions to meet customer needs.
