Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of four years of fundraising experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to energize and lead staff and volunteers.
  • Dedication, flexibility, attention to detail, and creativity.
  • Ability to work with internal and external constituents.
  • Familiarity with fundraising software; Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule including evening and weekend hours and statewide travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Commitment to Planned Parenthood’s operating goals and ability to contribute to development department and organizational goals.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including occasional lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire, broaden, and deepen support from individual donors to Planned Parenthood of Illinois
  • Execute strategy and manage the midlevel donor portfolio of donors giving $1,000–$24,999 annually
  • Build and maintain donor relationships through phone, email, mail, and in-person interactions
  • Develop and implement tailored donor communications, quarterly newsletters, and virtual briefing calls
  • Demonstrate organizational impact through stewardship luncheons
  • Manage and execute the donor stewardship program, including thank-you call lists
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual midlevel prospects
  • Support statewide fundraising special events and downstate engagement programs
  • Collaborate on the annual President’s Circle stewardship event
  • Design and execute targeted fundraising campaigns such as Giving Tuesday
  • Manage bi-weekly meetings with the CEO and development leadership team
  • Develop cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation strategies with PPIL, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and affiliates
  • Collaborate with Major Gifts Officers to develop the midlevel-to-major-gifts pipeline
  • Create strategies to acquire, renew, and upgrade midlevel donors
  • Prospect through donor list mining, community events, and other intelligence
  • Create and amplify midlevel messaging across digital and social channels
  • Establish long-term goals and annual performance metrics for the portfolio
  • Maintain the Development team communications calendar
  • Conduct portfolio analysis and recommend adjustments
  • Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce NPSP
  • Prepare fundraising performance and donor engagement reports
  • Adhere to departmental policies, AFP ethical standards, PPIL protocols, and core values
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Report to the Chief Development Officer
