Planned Parenthood of Illinois is seeking a Senior Development Associate to assist the Development team in fundraising activities and donor relations. You will support the Chief Development Officer, Senior Director, and other leaders, while maintaining organization-wide confidentiality and integrity in donor interactions.
The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask to meet fundraising goals.
Summary: The Senior Development Associate is primarily responsible for assisting the Development team in the implementation of fundraising activities. This role will provide support to and work in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, Senior Director of Development, Director of Institutional Giving, and Director of Major and Individual Giving. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to prioritize as well as multi-task. Fund development is essential to the overall success of the organization; it is imperative that the person in this role be dedicated to providing the support needed to assist in securing the resources necessary to fulfill the mission of the organization.
Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to remain informed about PPIL protocols, policies, and procedures. Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to PPIL core values of access, activism, care, confidentiality, equity, inclusion, excellence, integrity, respect, self-determination, and stewardship; practice these values in relations with internal and external customers. Other duties as assigned.
Extraordinary organizational and communication skills, strong writing skills, and an ability to participate in creative processes for department planning and projecting are required. Ability to cultivate positive, productive relationships with donors and offer excellent customer service. Research skills, including tenacity, perseverance, and strong results focus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to carry out duties respecting the sensitive and confidential nature of donor-related information and materials, and to demonstrate mature judgment in handling donor concerns. A sincere commitment to the mission and philosophy of Planned Parenthood is required.
Required: High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
One to three years prior fundraising experience preferred, or equivalent experience in a position involving database management, research, and writing. Strong working knowledge of MS Office software and fundraising database programs is required.

Director of Major and Individual Giving
Full-Time, salaried, exempt from the provisions of wage and salary regulations.
$60,000 - $65,000 a year
