Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in Detroit, MI seeks an Emerging Middle Market Relationship Manager, VP to develop and manage a mid-market client portfolio with strong revenue potential. You will lead relationship strategies with internal partners, analyze financial statements, and tailor banking solutions to client needs.

Travel regionally, excel in communication, and leverage CRM to grow relationships while maintaining risk controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years Commercial Banking experience, preferably at least 3 years in a sales role.
• Formalized commercial credit training or equivalent credit experience required.
• Proven ability to build new and existing client business translating to increased revenue and provide a positive client experience.
• Strong business acumen, to include detailed analysis, review of financial statements and understanding of accounting principles.
• Thorough knowledge of Commercial, Treasury Management, and alternative lending and financing options.
• Ability to assess client needs, drivers of profitability, and corporate/personal life cycle optimizing financial solutions.
• Ability to build strong internal partnerships to provide holistic solutions for client goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; negotiation experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM tools.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for clients independently using referrals and centers of influence.
• Develop and implement a business plan to achieve financial goals.
• Collaborate with One Bank partners to deepen relationships and acquire new clients.
• Attend community and industry events to broaden networks and knowledge.
• Analyze and tailor relationship strategies with product partners (Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Wealth Management).
• Ensure customer relationships align with bank risk and needs.
• Meet with customers regularly to maintain a trusted advisor relationship.
• Use consultative sales skills and CRM for activity tracking and pipeline management.
• Collaborate with Credit on credit requests and adhere to guidelines.
• Assess financial information to determine appropriate credit actions.
• Aim to meet credit standards and risk metrics.
