Job summary

Acrisure is seeking a Placement Specialist – Commercial Lines for our mid-to-large commercial accounts in California. You will manage new business and renewal processes, analyze exposures, and prepare detailed proposals for complex coverage needs.

Work with Client Advisors and carrier partners to craft strategic marketing plans, evaluate deductible programs and captives, and structure multi-layer insurance towers that meet client risk profiles. On-site collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant insurance experience, with emphasis on mid-to-large commercial account placements.
• Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong critical thinking, financial analysis, and negotiation skills with ability to analyze complex market data.
• Proficient with MS Office, including Excel and Word.
• Experience with Applied Epic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Timeline & Process Management: maintain timeline and process during new business/renewal, including exposure analysis, quote specs, coverage negotiation, and proposals.
• Market Strategy: develop and execute marketing strategies for select accounts based on risk, deductibles, captives, and market analysis.
• Alternative Risk Analysis: evaluate large deductible programs and captive structures for optimal placement.
• Coverage Structuring: build insurance towers with higher limits beyond primary policies.
• Independent decision-making: place accounts with alternative carriers balancing client needs and market conditions.
• Year-End Review: conduct year-end book review for select accounts to assess placement and renewal strategy.
• Communication: collaborate with Client Advisors, Account Service Team, and markets; participate in client discussions.
• Policy Review: review policies and make improvement recommendations.
• Submission Preparation: prepare insurance submissions including ACORD forms, loss summaries, exposure schedules.
• Data Analysis: analyze prospect exposure and model loss-sensitive programs as needed.
• Market Relationships: maintain relationships with carriers and stay informed on appetites and trends.
• Confidentiality: handle confidential information.
• Licensing Compliance: maintain licenses and continuing education.
