MID-LEVEL TELECOM ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Location: Washington, DCHYBRID

A top-10 AmLaw firm with a highly-regarded Telecommunications practice is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join their Washington, D.C. office. This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate with a background in telecommunications law—whether from a firm, the FCC, or another regulatory environment—who is interested in advising on cutting-edge legal issues in wireless, satellite, broadband, and spectrum-based technologies.

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.

  • Active Bar Admission in DC, in good standing.

  • 3–5 years of substantive experience in telecommunications law, with a focus on regulatory matters.

  • Regulatory Expertise: Familiarity with the Communications Act, FCC regulations, and administrative processes, including rulemakings, licensing, compliance, and enforcement.

  • Industry Insight: Demonstrated interest in emerging communications technologies, including broadband, 5G, and spectrum innovation.

  • Prior experience at a leading law firm or the FCC is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent research and writing skills, business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on regulatory issues affecting the telecommunications industry, including licensing, compliance, spectrum allocation, and infrastructure deployment.

  • Represent clients in FCC proceedings, rulemakings, and related administrative processes.

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, filings, and policy analyses on a wide range of telecom issues.

  • Monitor regulatory and legislative developments impacting telecom and broadband.

  • Collaborate across practice groups to support transactional, policy, and litigation matters involving telecommunications clients.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual base salary is expected to range from $260,000 – $365,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors. Discretionary bonus opportunities are also available.
