Job summary

Keysight Technologies is seeking an experienced NPI-focused engineer to join the Microcircuit Assembly R&D team in California. You will work hands-on with cross-functional groups to develop and optimize advanced microcircuit assembly processes for new products.

The role involves collaborating across materials, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing disciplines to bring concepts to production, while advancing process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
Typically 2–4 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing process development, optimization, DOE, or problem solving.
Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a hands-on laboratory environment supporting process development.

Responsibilities

Participate in DFM reviews with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Develop and optimize microcircuit assembling processes including epoxy dispensing, ball/bonding, soldering, and related tech.
Conduct hands-on experiments, environmental testing, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced NPI environment.
Design tooling, fixtures, and equipment for assembly and testing.
Create documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing specs.
Drive continuous improvement for efficiency, quality, reliability, and process capability.
Stay current with manufacturing tech and cross-functional knowledge across disciplines.
