Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Military and Family Life Counselor at installations in the Quantico area to provide non-medical, short-term counseling to service members and their families. This role focuses on brief counseling, action planning, referrals, and follow-up within the military community.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field and an independent license, with US citizenship and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in behavioral health from an accredited program.
• Current licensure to provide independent counseling.
• Less than 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• US citizenship and fluency in English required.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling to service members and families.
• Deliver training and health/wellness presentations at base installations.
• Enter counseling activity data daily while maintaining confidentiality.
• Develop relationships with installation POC and community resources to link services.
• Respond to critical incidents and on-demand events as directed by POC.
