Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) to provide non-medical counseling and brief interventions for service members and their families at a Quantico-based installation. The role involves education, brief therapy, and wellness presentations in coordination with installation leadership and POC teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health field (e.g., social work, psychology, counseling).
• Valid independent license to practice mental health counseling (state/DC/territory).
• Less than 2 years post-licensure clinical experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and mobile/telehealth tools.
• Ability to engage military members and families in diverse settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide MFLC non-medical, short-term counseling at military installations.
• Deliver training and health/wellness presentations as requested.
• Enter counselor activity data daily and maintain client confidentiality.
• Develop connections with installation POCs and community resources.
• Respond to critical incidents and on-demand events per program directives.
• Maintain professional supervision and participate in program activities.
