Job summary

Fastenal Co. seeks a Metalworking Field Application Specialist to drive implementation, productivity, and supply chain efficiencies for end users. You will test processes, identify parts, and leverage partnerships to ensure continuity while collaborating with the metalworking team on customer-site projects.

A strong machining/tooling background and robust communication are essential. The role demands travel up to 50% with overnights and a flexible location from Eastern OH or PA branches.

Qualifications

• Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
• Possess a degree, certificate or diploma in CNC, Machining, Business, Operations related field of study OR have at least 2 years of industry related work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrate strong technical aptitude in machining and tooling
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Willingness to travel 50% + with overnights required

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Responsibilities

• Increasing speed to revenue by supporting customer implementation programs with a focus on onsite locations
• Creating supply chain efficiencies reducing overall operating costs while documenting cost savings
• Driving margin improvement through conversions with a focus on increased profit dollars
• Working towards goals tied to productivity improvement for customers with a focus on metal removal operations
