Job summary

Grainger seeks a Metalworking Specialist to deliver advanced technical sales in machining, welding, and grinding. You will conduct onsite assessments to help customers evaluate and implement complex products and solutions, aligning with their business needs.

You will lead consultative engagements, develop tailored demonstrations, and collaborate with internal teams to drive growth. The role requires travel within North Carolina and strong knowledge of fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years in cutting tools and machining, welding and abrasives, or industrial fabrication.
• Experience partnering with customers to assess technical and operational challenges and recommend solutions.
• Knowledge of machine tool brands and machining principles, speeds/feeds.
• Familiar with CNC programming environments (Mastercam, Autodesk Fusion, Siemens).

Responsibilities

• Lead consultative engagements by understanding complex customer needs and develop tailored metalworking solutions.
• Leverage market intelligence to educate customers on Grainger capabilities and fabrication/machining solutions.
• Develop understanding of customer processes to recommend metalworking solutions that improve operations.
• Implement customer-focused strategies to identify revenue opportunities and align with business objectives.
• Partner with internal teams to develop and demonstrate integrated technical solutions for customers.
• Document engagements and outcomes to improve account strategies and profitability.
