Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking an Automation Systems Engineer to design and lead MES implementations in collaboration with IT and manufacturing teams. You will help translate client needs into functional MES specifications and support architecture decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes gathering requirements, defining functional specs through interviews and process mapping, and proactively engaging customers to shape technical approaches for MES solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and lead the implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Engage IT personnel to resolve MES application and manufacturing process issues.
• Perform requirements gathering and gap analysis to user requirements.
• Support MES solution architectures and assist customers in developing detailed design specifications.
• Define functional requirements through client interviews and process mapping.
• Provide knowledge to estimate the technical effort for MES solutions.
• Responsible for technical deliverables across the MES project lifecycle.
• Participate with the technical project team and maintain relationships.
• Engage with customers to define the overall technical approach for MES solutions.
• Maintain personal technical skills through continuous education.
• Proactively report project progress against schedule.
• Manage adjustments to scope, schedule, and issues.
• Participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions.
