Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support MES-driven manufacturing operations in a high-volume environment. This role focuses on MES, PLC integration, real-time production execution, and automation system reliability.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering, operations, and production teams to optimize MES-enabled processes and ensure data integrity across the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC/HMI.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting manufacturing automation and control systems.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and plant-floor protocols.
• Ability to analyze complex production and system integration issues.
• Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support MES-to-PLC integrations during system launches and ramp-ups.
• Configure and maintain communications between MES and PLC systems.
• Integrate MES templates into PLC programs and data types.
• Create and maintain PLC tags and logic for MES transactions and reporting.
• Collaborate with engineers and MES teams to optimize processes.
• Document MES-related PLC changes and production support activities.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and network issues affecting MES functionality.
• Support real-time production reporting and data integrity.
• Assist with audits, root cause analysis, and data requests.
• Identify improvements for MES functionality and manufacturing performance.
• Support MES enhancements, updates, and new rollouts.
