Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Head of Merchant Payments PMO to lead the portfolio management office, product operations, Chief of Staff and strategic projects for Merchant Payment Services.

You will define operating models, manage cross‑functional programs, and drive delivery across SMB, EPG, Enterprise, and Platform product areas, closely partnering with senior stakeholders. You will own the annual planning cycle, run intake and prioritization, monitor spend, and report progress to the SLT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Typically 15+ years of portfolio or program management leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MPS PMO with program managers across multiple product areas to manage dependencies and execution.
• Direct delivery of complex cross-functional programs with milestones, risks, and escalation paths.
• Set PMO standards, tooling and governance for visibility across the portfolio.
• Drive measurable improvements in product delivery predictability.
• Own annual product planning lifecycle and yearly budget planning with Technology Finance.
• Run intake management and prioritization to align investments with strategy and ROI.
• Produce monthly roadmap and spend reporting, lead product council forums.
• Track realized value vs. business cases and reallocate investments when needed.
• Serve as Chief of Staff, manage leadership agenda and executive communications.
• Coordinate cross-functional priorities and escalations across Product, Technology, Sales, Finance and Risk.
• Lead enterprise transformation programs and operating model changes.
• Develop and retain a high-performing portfolio and strategy team.
