Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Head of Merchant Payments PMO to lead portfolio management, product operations, and strategic initiatives across multiple product areas.

You will shape the operating model, drive delivery across cross-functional teams, and manage the annual planning and investment processes. This role requires senior leadership presence, deep payments knowledge, and a track record of delivering complex programs in a matrixed financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with 15+ years in portfolio or program management, product operations, strategy or chief of staff roles.
• Deep knowledge of merchant acquiring and payments platforms and distribution channels.
• Experience leading an enterprise PMO or product operations in financial services or fintech.
• Experience as chief of staff or business manager to a senior executive and running a leadership team’s operating rhythm.
• Strong financial acumen including investment planning, business cases and spend management.
• Executive presence and communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and steering committees.
• Experience leading organizational change and transformation programs.
• Knowledge of Agile and hybrid delivery methods; PMP/PgMP/SAFe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MPS PMO with program managers across SMB, EPG, Enterprise, Enterprise Healthcare and Platform product areas.
• Direct delivery of complex cross-functional programs with milestones, risk and issue management.
• Set PMO standards, tooling and governance for visibility and comparability across the portfolio.
• Own annual product planning lifecycle and yearly budget planning with Technology Finance.
• Run leadership rhythm: SLT meetings, reviews and executive communications.
• Lead transformation programs including acquisitions, integrations and platform consolidation.
• Develop a high-performing team and manage budget and resources.
