Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant to support daily buying operations and manage merchandise flow from concept to creation.

You will assist the buying team with PO tracking, sample management, and communications with vendors to ensure timely deliveries. The role also involves leading weekly production meetings, conducting web audits, and becoming a key information resource on product assortment and launch timing.

Responsibilities

• PO tracking with vendors, buying operations and transportation to follow up on PO status from shipment to receipt at the warehouse.
• Own web and creative turnover; manage photo sample requests for web photography and creative shoots; communicate delays.
• Full ownership of sample management; request, track, and organize samples for PR, web photos, and meetings; ensure timely delivery.
• Act as the main contact for vendor communication; monitor design packs, provide feedback, share cost sheets, and assist with order entry.
• Lead internal weekly production meetings; update on sampling progress and vendor questions.
• Conduct weekly web audits to verify styles/colors are activated and report issues back to the team.
• Become an expert on product assortment and source of product information, launch timing and sample locations.
• Take on ad hoc reporting/projects to support the buying team.
