URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. in Philadelphia is seeking a Merchandise Assistant to support daily operational functions within the buying area and assist the Buyer and Associate Buyer.

You’ll develop cross-functional relationships with markets, distribution, design, and production to help manage merchandise flow. The role emphasizes organization, sampling, vendor communication, and calendar management in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency.
• Understanding of customer wants and needs and ability to identify products/trends.
• Ability to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks.
• Must demonstrate creative thinking.
• Rudimentary understanding of retail math.
• 1–2 years of retail experience or internship.

Responsibilities

• Open all packages and distribute to Buyer for review.
• Organize all sample areas and manage sample setup for meetings.
• Call in missing samples from vendors or production via log.
• Organize and file vendor catalogs and coordinate web turnover samples.
• Check mailboxes and distribute mail to Assistant Buyer.
• Answer emails promptly and in an organized fashion.
