Catalyst Brands, the operator behind JCPenney stores, is seeking an Assistant Manager of Merchandise in Baltimore to lead associates, maintain merchandise standards, and drive sales growth across multiple channels.

You will oversee replenishment, customer service excellence, and the Manager on Duty program, while developing talent and executing events in specialty lines like Fine jewelry and mattresses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong customer service orientation and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Merchandise Execution – Owns in-stock levels through replenishment and maintains high presentation standards; leads planning and execution of merchandise and visual elements.
• Customer Service and Sales – Coaches team for outstanding service and oversees the Manager on Duty program.
• Omnichannel – Supports Omnichannel initiatives and trains on all related processes.
• Specialty Businesses – Drives sales growth in Fine jewelry, Window & Mattress; plans and executes events.
• Team Development – Partners to source/hire hourly talent; trains and develops associates; coaches in the moment.
• Performance Standards – Meets expectations on shrink, safety, scheduling, engagement, profit, productivity, and attendance.
