MEPS Field Interviewer — Part-Time with Travel

Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking motivated Field Interviewers to administer MEPS interviews, using Westat-provided laptops, with travel to local and occasionally long-distance households.

The role spans two data collection periods yearly, January–July and July–December, with breaks between rounds and possible overtime. Qualifications include 18+ years old, willingness to complete mandatory online and in-person trainings in early 2027, and the ability to travel for site visits.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older and able to sign confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Complete mandatory web-based home study training between January 4 and January 15, 2027, prior to in-person training.
• Attend mandatory in-person training slated for January 19–25, 2027.
• Complete post-training home study between January 26 and January 31, 2027.
• Reside in project-designated areas and travel for in-person interviews through 2030.
• Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Meet physical requirements: lift 20 pounds, walk blocks, climb stairs with equipment.
• Have a current and valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Contact households and conduct in-person interviews for MEPS.
• Set appointments, transmit data daily when working, and follow up with documents.
• Complete administrative paperwork and comply with data security requirements.
