Job summary

Westat is seeking Field Interviewers to support the MEPS study. You will conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households, traveling to training and field sites as needed. This is a part-time, non-Exempt role with data submission duties and confidentiality requirements.

Mandatory training begins in January 2027, with in-person training and potential overnight travel. Data collection occurs across two yearly periods, with breaks between rounds, and no guaranteed hours

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older with ability to enter confidentiality agreements.
• Available to complete mandatory training between January 4–15, 2027.
• Willing to travel for mandatory in-person training and potential field travel.
• Available for data collection periods across 2027–2030.
• Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households.
• Contact households in-person and/or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete interviews, and collect signed documents (electronic and paper).
• Transmit data daily on work days; maintain data security and confidentiality.
