Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking Field Interviewers to conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews for the MEPS study in the United States.

The role requires travel to local and occasional overnight assignments, with two data-collection periods each year and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. The position starts with mandatory training in January 2027, followed by ongoing web-based and virtual training.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older (or emancipated minor) with the ability to enter binding confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Available to complete mandatory web-based home study training and Microsoft Teams sessions between January 4 and January 15, 2027.
• Able to travel to in-person training starting January 19, 2027 and complete five-and-a-half day training January 20–25, 2027.
• Available to complete post-training web-based and virtual training between January 26 and January 31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in sampled households.
• Contact households by phone and in person to introduce the study and gain cooperation, set appointments, complete interviews, and collect signed documents.
• Transmit electronic data daily on workdays.
• Follow data security and confidentiality requirements.
