Job summary

Clark Construction Group seeks an experienced Systems (MEPF) Preconstruction Engineer with preferred electrical and low voltage expertise to support our LA/OC Offices. You will lead preconstruction activities, analyze designs and estimates, and drive value through cost‑effective, constructable solutions.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
• 4+ years of construction, estimating, and/or cost control related experience.
• Field experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction of the MEPF systems (electrical and low voltage experience is preferred) with internal teams, trade partners, designers, engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver a design on budget and on schedule.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
• Drive value analysis by identifying opportunities and sharing insights on cost-effective, efficient, and constructable designs.
• Collect and analyze cost data, identify options, provide recommendations to budget and design issues.
• Review Construction Documents to verify compliance with program, design intent and pace of advancement.
• Lead stakeholder meetings, design progress meetings, value analysis sessions, and design conferences related to MEPF systems.
• Develop design deliverables and workflow to support subcontracting and permitting decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers, preconstruction managers, other trade estimators, and field leadership to refine cost and schedule.
• Develop trade partner RFQs for best value evaluation and selection.
• Solicit trade partner and vendor quotes and evaluate for scope, qualifications, risks and opportunities.
• Lead meetings with trade partners to resolve scope gaps and design options.
• Perform risk and contract management on bids.
