Job summary

Turner Construction Company in New York is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV systems from design through construction documents.

You will develop take-offs, analyze bids, coordinate with suppliers, and perform constructability reviews, ensuring GC/GR considerations are captured and hand-off to Operations is seamless.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field and minimum of 3 years of related mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, technology, and LV systems estimating experience.
• Knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule to formulate comprehensive cost analysis for MEPT systems.
• Ability to collaborate with vendors and trade partners and project team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quickly adapt to new technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for MEPT systems from design documents to construction documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, estimates, and studies for MEPT systems.
• Develop pricing with local suppliers and equipment vendors.
• Perform constructability analysis and communicate issues to project team.
• Coordinate equipment pricing with SourceBlue for MEPT estimates.
• Participate in estimate reviews with design team and client.
• Assist in hand-off to Operations and transfer knowledge.
• May supervise Assistant MEP Estimators and Interns.
