Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator in Shelton, CT to lead comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and low voltage cost estimates for complex construction projects.

You will analyze drawings, specifications, and site conditions; coordinate with vendors and trade partners; and prepare detailed cost plans for GMP, lump-sum or cost-plus bids. Strong collaboration and communication are essential in our project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years estimating experience for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology and LV systems.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and their integration in construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Proven collaboration with vendors, trade partners, and project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new estimating tools.
• Supervisory experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for MEPS trades and supporting systems from design through construction documents.
• Develop quantity takeoffs, analysis, estimates and cost studies for assigned scope.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and availability.
• Perform constructability reviews and communicate issues to the project team.
• Assist with bid preparation and value engineering analyses.
• Support project hand-off to Operations with knowledge transfer.
