Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Shelton, CT is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV systems from concept through construction documents.

You will work with design teams, vendors and Turner staff to ensure accurate cost analysis, manage bid processes, and support preconstruction activities. Bachelor’s degree required and at least 3 years of related estimating experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of related Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage system estimating experience.
• Knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications and scopes for cost analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with vendors, trade partners and project team members.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Supervisory experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Communicate MEP estimate scope to Turner staff, architects, engineers and owners.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for MEP systems.
• Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope.
• Develop vendor and trade partner pricing relationships for MEP materials.
• Develop working relationships with MEP trade partners to build bidder lists.
• Perform constructability analysis and advise the project team.
• Provide first costs analysis and participate in life cycle analysis with Design team.
• Coordinate pricing with SourceBlue for MEP system estimates.
• Prepare and assemble estimates for different contract types; participate in bid/procurement.
• Participate in estimate reviews with Design team and client.
• May supervise estimators and interns.
