Job summary

Turner Construction Company in the Carolinas division seeks an experienced estimator to prepare detailed Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection estimates for a Charlotte project. You will work from design documents through construction documents and coordinate with the Preconstruction Manager and MEP Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection estimating experience.
• Knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, and schedules for cost analysis.
• Strong communication and collaboration with vendors, trade partners and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Communicate mechanical estimate and scopes of work to Turner staff, architects, engineers, and owners.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection items from design to construction documents.
• Analyze site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and equipment vendors for current pricing.
• Build bidder lists with trade partners and manage relationships.
• Perform constructability analysis and communicate issues to the project team.
• Provide first costs analysis and participate in life cycle analysis with Design team.
• Coordinate GC/GR items and construction-related costs in estimates.
• Prepare estimates for lump sum, GMP, and Cost Plus and participate in reviews.
