Job summary

Family Services of the Merrimack Valley in Lawrence, MA, seeks an Enrollment & Match Support Specialist for the Stand & Deliver mentoring program. You will recruit and enroll students and mentors, screen for safety, and build strong mentor/mentee relationships.

You’ll coordinate background checks, run trainings, and provide ongoing support to families and schools. This is a full-time, 32-hour/week hybrid role with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field; or with a minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience working with youth, families, volunteers, mentoring programs, case management, or community-based programs.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and ability to communicate respectfully with diverse communities.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills; able to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn electronic databases and program management systems.
• Self-motivated, dependable, adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for activities and outreach.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
• Strong group facilitation and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, interview, orient, and enroll volunteer mentors; coordinate background checks and training.
• Recruit, interview, orient, and enroll students in the Stand & Deliver program.
• Create mentor/mentee matches based on interests, strengths and needs.
• Provide ongoing match support to mentors, students, and families.
• Conduct regular match check-ins and develop action plans as needed.
• Respond to child safety concerns per agency policies.
• Build positive relationships with school liaisons and partners.
• Develop strategies to strengthen parent/caregiver engagement.
