Job summary

New Directions Mental Health, a member of Transformations Care Network, seeks Mental Health Therapists to join our behavioral health team in Pittsburgh. You will provide outpatient therapy, collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and other clinicians, and support clients toward recovery and wellness.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, and licensure or provisional licensure as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or a related field.
• Provisional license per state regulation if required.
• Educational background that leads to professional licensing.
• Passionate about mental health and committed to high-quality care.
• Ongoing professional development including free supervision and continuing education.
• Eager to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance client care.
• Strong commitment to ethical practice and maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients and families.
• Ability to manage time effectively and complete documentation and administrative tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct culturally sensitive, strength-based assessments for new clients and families.
• Provide outpatient individual and family therapy based on client needs.
• Develop crisis, safety, relapse prevention, and wellness plans.
• Participate in case consultations, agency meetings, and discharge planning.
• Ensure timely completion of billing, documentation, treatment plans, and insurance forms.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, dietitians, admin staff, and fellow therapists.

Education

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or a related field

Provisional license per state regulation (if required)

Educational background leading to professional licensing

Passionate about mental health and committed to high-quality care

Ongoing professional development including supervision and continuing education
