Job summary

Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the nursing team. The role focuses on coordinating a patient-centric therapeutic strategy while delivering high-quality, cost-effective programming in a regulated environment.

You will participate in observation rounds, treatment planning, admissions, and group sessions, and document care for adolescents and adults with emotional disturbance or co-occurring disorders.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
• Certified Nursing Assistants and Registered Behavioral Technicians are encouraged to apply.
• Valid driver's license with no suspensions or tickets for major traffic violations for at least three years.
• Experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within first week of hire.
• Must be able and willing to become certified in therapeutic restraint technique program (Handle With Care).

Responsibilities

• Participate in treatment planning
• Assist in the admission process
• Orient new patients to the unit and their program
• Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions
• Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation
