Job summary

BlueRidge Vista in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to help build a calm, structured milieu where healing can take root. You will perform safety rounds, observations, 1:1s, and support admissions, discharges, and care plan movements.

The role emphasizes empathy, consistency, and clear communication with patients, families, and the care team; prior STNA/EMT or college experience preferred; strong teamwork. Full-time benefits included.

Qualifications

• Empathy, consistency, and clear communication are essential.
• Experience in a behavioral health setting or with crisis de‑escalation is a plus.
• Prior healthcare support roles helpful for teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform frequent safety rounds, observations, and 1:1s; document behaviors and interventions.
• Lead or assist with groups: coping skills, grounding, recreation, and ADLs support.
• Partner with RNs during crises using verbal de‑escalation and team Response protocols.
• Assist admissions/intakes: belongings inventory, vitals, and orientation to the unit.
• Maintain a therapeutic, tidy environment and uphold visitor policies.
• Coordinate with rounding providers and daytime interdisciplinary teams to keep care plans moving.
• Support safe discharges and smooth handoffs to evening/night teams.
