Ridgeview Institute Smyrna is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join the Recovery Residence on a PRN basis. The MHT will work as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care and role modeling under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities include taking vital signs, observing and documenting changes, communicating with the charge nurse, and assisting with ADLs.

The Recovery Residence Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on which unit works. MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.
Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.
Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion CPR/ First Aid certification and CPI training to within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
